About Us

San Clemente Therapists (SCT) Networking and Referral Group

Our group has been in existence since 2003 and is made up of board certified behavioral

health professionals (MDs, PhDs, PsyDs, LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, PAs, Associates, Interns),

who live or work in San Clemente.  As independent practitioners, we share no business

connections or liabilities.  Our association is primarily for networking, referrals

and support.  Our networking objectives and activities include the following:

  • Creating a community of local professionals promoting health, wellness and self-care;
  • Sharing our knowledge of useful treatment techniques, modalities, and resources;
  • Learning the latest in practice development methods and business requirements;
  • Networking and building relationships to inform and facilitate appropriate referrals;
  • Giving mutual support and providing access to professional peer consultations;
  • Supporting as a group other local organizations and important causes; and
  • Celebrating who we are and what we do.

Our four annual Quarterly Meetings provide three educational presentations focused on

clinical topics and one focused on practice development issues.  On the first Thursday of

the other months, we network through smaller informal lunches at local restaurants.

We hold monthly Peer Consultation Groups for our licensed and interested members.

Our Participation in the Community includes group involvement in events such as

fund-raising walks for local charities.

In staying connected, we email regularly to our General Mailing List (<90), including

past meeting presenters, members no longer accepting referrals and other professionals.

At the core of our group, we maintain our SCT Networking and Referral List, consisting

of the current individual San Clemente Therapists (> 60) who are known to (possibly) be

accepting new referrals this year.  Note that such availability can vary from week to week.

Each professional’s membership in this group has no dues or fees, and is entirely voluntary;

And our group is caringly co-coordinated by a voluntary Steering Committee of our peers.

For 2017, our Steering Committee (in order of longevity) consists of Karen Haycraft, Rick

Gastil (Chair), Chari Morrow (Quarterly Food Coordinator), Jan Seymour, Beth Holder

(Quarterly Presentation Coordinator) and Kelly Burris (Committee Secretary/Web Lead)

A Sub-Committee of Rick, Beth and Kelly is currently exploring the feasibility of launching

our own San Clemente Therapists’ website.  Be patient with us; it involves a lot of work

and a steep learning curve (for Rick), but it promises to benefit all of us and all San Clemente.
